About the race
Small Town Christmas 34 Hour is an ultramarathon in Valley, Alabama, near the Chattahoochee River and Shawmut Airport. Runners tackle a 2-mile loop for up to 34 hours, embracing a small-town holiday atmosphere. The course follows the riverbank, offering a repeatable loop for endurance pacing.
The race supports Valley’s free Merry-Go-Round carousel, a Christmas tradition sustained by local businesses and city efforts after the mills closed. In year 1, racers achieved several 100-mile distances and distance PRs. Finisher awards are given to all finishers, with a special belt buckle for 100 miles; shirts are available by a deadline.
