Police Pace - 5K, 10K & 1 Miler (Ellicott City, MD)
The Police Pace is a community road race on Sept 20, 2026 at Centennial Park - South Entrance, 10000 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD. The event is held in partnership with the Howard County Police Foundation to raise funds for programs and needs not covered by the annual police budget. A portion of registration fees is donated to the Police Foundation. Registration opens Apr 3, 2026; registering by Aug 15 guarantees a shirt. Race registration includes a shirt and a finisher medal.
Race format and logistics

Age requirements: runners must be at least 7 years old for the 5K and 10 years old for the 10K; the 1 Miler is open to all ages. The 5K and 10K start and finish in a grass field under an inflatable arch. The 1 Miler starts on the road above the field, joins the main course at mile 0.5, and finishes under the arch. Timing uses bib tag timing and live results are published during the event. Awards are given to the top 3 finishers in multiple age groups for the 5K and 10K (age groups include 7-8, 9-10, 11-13, 14-19, and 20-29 up to 80-89) and additional first-place awards for specific public safety categories. Pets, baby joggers/strollers, in-line skates, bicycles, and other non-official wheeled vehicles are prohibited. Registration transfers are not permitted.
