Event overview
The Pond Fest Winter Trail Runs and Snowshoe Race takes place on January 17, 2026, at Chenango Valley State Park in Chenango Forks, NY. The race is part of the Binghamton Pond Festival and includes both trail running and snowshoe events. The festival runs concurrently with the race, so runners and snowshoers will pass the festival start/finish area and may encounter spectators, food trucks, and other activity near that area. The broader festival operates an outdoor ice rink that uses mechanical refrigeration.
Race format and distances
All races use the same start and finish location. Adult courses are based on a 10k loop; participants may complete one loop, multiple loops, or up to five loops for longer distances. Runners are expected to be self-supported while on the course. Organizers will provide an aid area near the start/finish that offers typical ultra aid station items plus water and an electrolyte drink.
- 50k - five 10k loops
- 20k - two 10k loops
- 10k - one 10k loop
- Kids Run - youth distance at the same venue
Proceeds from festival events are donated to local nonprofit organizations that support youth, education, and sport programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
