Porter Fire's Stop, Drop and Run

Porter Fire's Stop, Drop and Run 5K is a community run/walk event held at Hawthorne Park in Porter, Indiana. Participants can run alongside firefighters, some of whom run in full gear, adding a unique challenge and atmosphere. The course features street and bike trail running, starting and finishing at the park.

The event supports the Porter Fire Department's efforts to enhance equipment, training, and dive response, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Warren "Skip" Highwood Memorial Foundation, which provides scholarships and supports burn camp sponsorships. Amenities include water stations, refreshments, clear route markings, and awards for top finishers across various age groups. Strollers and dogs on leashes are welcome.
