Event
The 21st Race into the New Year takes place on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. The start and finish are at the bandstand at the end of Rehoboth Avenue where the avenue meets the boardwalk and ocean. The main running event is an out-and-back 5k that begins on the boardwalk and runs north to a turnaround at Gordon's Pond near Cape Henlopen State Park.

Logistics and policies
The event is hosted by the Seashore Striders to benefit local Cape Region charities. Timing will use chip timing with the Chronotrack system. Long-sleeve pre-shrunk cotton race shirts are guaranteed to participants who preregister by December 23, 2025. Parking will be on Rehoboth Avenue and meters are not in effect for the event.
Registration fees vary by date: early registration at $25 (through December 1), pre-registration at $30 (through December 30), and late/on-site registration at $35 on race day. Packet pickup is available the day before at the bandstand; participants are encouraged to collect shirts and bibs prior to race day. The event has a no-refund policy with options to transfer entries, donate fees, or defer to the following year. Awards are given overall and by masters plus top three in five-year age groups from 9 & under to 80 & over. Course rules require following marked routes and prohibit bicycles and unregistered participants; headphones are discouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
