Event overview
The Shoreline Sharks Rail Trail 10K Race takes place on October 4, 2025, in Hamden, Connecticut at the Railroad Canal Line Main Parking Lot, 255 Sherman Ave. The event is the 9th annual running of this race and is designated as the 2025 10K State Championship race for the Road Runners Club of America. The race is held rain or shine and the distance is 10K. There are no time cutoffs and no early starts.
Course, amenities and policies
The course is 100% on the Rail Trail with no cars and no street crossings, run as a flat out-and-back route. Parking is available in Rail Trail lots and on-street. Aid stations provide Poland Spring water and Gatorade Endurance at Miles 2.5 and 3.5 and at the finish line. Registered entrants receive men's or women's cut short sleeve technical shirts and a 3-inch custom finisher medal. Results are provided live by online, text, and email methods; finish line photos and same-day video are available free. Awards are custom pint pilsner glasses for Top 5 male and female overall and Top 5 male and female in each age group: 5-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+. Registration fees are non-refundable, non-transferable, and race-day payment (if used) accepts cash, checks made out to "cash", or Venmo to "ShorelineSharks" - no cards.
