Event overview
The Red Coyote Puppy Love 5K is an in-person and virtual 5K event held in February 2026 in Oklahoma City at Stars & Stripes Park (3701 S Lake Hefner Drive). The event includes an in-person 5K run/walk, a pushchair 5K, an event volunteer category, and a virtual 5K. The race is 100% dog friendly for well-socialized dogs on a leash; owners are asked to carry pickup bags to maintain course cleanliness. The course is a loop on recreational trails at Lake Hefner, with traffic arranged to move in one direction. Awards will be given to the top three men and women, USATF age division winners, and the first male and female finishers with a dog. A costume contest for dog and owner is also planned. The race benefits 405 Animal Rescue.
Logistics and services
Packet pick up is available at the Red Coyote Oklahoma City store (5720 N Classen, 73118) on Friday, February 14, and on-site pickup will be offered at the race; advance pickup is recommended. Parking inside Stars & Stripes Park is limited, with overflow at other Lake Hefner recreation areas and a parking map provided. Timing uses MyLaps bib tag timing with live online results, optional finish time text and email notifications, downloadable finisher certificates, and event photos provided by Okie Pics. Optional race insurance is available during registration through a third party. Pricing listed on the event page includes a $30 fee for the in-person 5K, a $35 fee for the virtual 5K, and no fee for pushchair or volunteer entries.
