Event
The Red Raider Road Race is an annual road race held at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX. The 44th edition is scheduled for October 4, 2025. Both courses loop the inner Texas Tech campus and the start/finish area is at the Robert H. Ewalt Student Recreation Center.
Distances
- 5K Run/walk - Ages 10+
- 10K Run - Ages 13+
Entry and race rules
Entry fees are $25 for West Texas Running Club members and non-member children ages 10-12, and $35 for non-members for either distance. There is no race day registration and no refunds. The event is a T-shirt race.
Course certification and participation
Both the 5K and 10K courses are USATF certified (5K: #TX13188ETM; 10K: #TX13187ETM). Recent finisher counts show typical participation in the hundreds, for example 498 finishers in 2024, 415 in 2023, and 348 in 2022. The event has been held annually since 1982.
