Reston Triathlon
The Reston Triathlon, a community staple since 1984, features a challenging Olympic distance event that includes a 1500-meter swim, a 25-mile bike ride, and a 10K run. Due to safety concerns regarding cyanobacteria in Lake Audubon, the event has transitioned to a duathlon format, replacing the swim with a 4K run. The triathlon is organized by the CORE Foundation and aims to promote health and community engagement.
Scheduled for September 7, 2025, the event also includes an Aquabike and an Olympic Relay, welcoming participants aged 15 and older. The race emphasizes resilience and adaptability within the athletic community. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
Always double-check with the organizer's website – things can change, and we might have sprinted past a few details!
