The Ring in the New Year race takes place on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at Whittier Narrows Recreation Area in South El Monte, California (750 Santa Anita Ave). Parking at the park is $10 per vehicle. The event offers multiple race distances and a half marathon.

Course, services and fees
The course is an open route on the park trail and uses marked out-and-back loops. Runners should be courteous to other pedestrians, runners, and cyclists on the trail. An aid station at the turnaround/start/finish provides water cups, water bottles, Gatorade cups, and energy gels. Route formats listed by the organizer: the 5k is an out-and-back; the 10k is two 5k loops; the 15k is three 5k loops; the half marathon is three 4.36-mile out-and-back loops. Results are posted on the event website within 12-24 hours.
Registered participants receive custom finisher medals, drawstring goodie bags, free photos and videos, and an assortment of snacks and samples. The half marathon has a 3 hour 15 minute time limit. Transfers are permitted by request and there is a no-refund policy.
