About the race
The Rock the Beat 5K is an annual running event held at the Dismal Swamp Canal Trail in Chesapeake, Virginia. The 8th edition, scheduled for September 20, 2025, features a 5K race and a Kids 1 Mile, both available in-person and virtually. Organized by Mended Little Hearts of Coastal Virginia, the event raises awareness and funds for families affected by congenital heart defects (CHDs).
Participants can enjoy a supportive atmosphere with food, fun, and fast race times. The event encourages running, walking, volunteering, and community celebration to support “the littlest heart patients of all.” Packet pickup occurs two days prior at a local farmer's market.
