Rocky 50 Trail Race
The Rocky 50, by USWE Trail Race, is an annual trail running event held in early February at Huntsville State Park, Texas. It features three main distances: 50 miles, 50 kilometers, and a 13.1-mile half marathon, along with a youth 1-mile run for children 12 and under. The course offers rolling trails with exposed tree roots, scenic pine forests, bridges, and views of an East Texas lake, providing a fast yet challenging trail experience with about 900 feet of elevation gain per loop.
The 50-mile race consists of three 16.7-mile loops, while the 50K and half marathon have modified loops. The event is known for excellent course markings, well-stocked aid stations, and a family-friendly atmosphere. Registration is limited due to park capacity and the race often sells out.
