Rocky's Backyard Ultra is a unique ultra trail race held at the YMCA of the Rockies in Estes Park, Colorado, known as the highest organized Backyard Ultra in the world. Runners complete 4.167-mile laps on a challenging singletrack course featuring about 500 feet of elevation gain and loss per lap, with altitudes ranging from 7,930 to 8,060 feet. The route skirts Rocky Mountain National Park, passing scenic spots like Glacier Creek, Wind River Trail, and Dorsey Pond, with frequent wildlife sightings.

The race continues hourly until only one runner remains. The event offers a $1,000 cash prize for 100-mile finishers, stocked aid stations, and family-friendly amenities on the YMCA campus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
