The 2026 Run for Education
The San Ramon Valley Education Foundation organizes the Run for Education on October 11, 2026. The event includes an Expo for Education and multiple in-person and virtual race options. The 5K and 10K will be timed and will offer printable certificates after the race. Fundraising is built into registration: each registration creates a fundraising page, with 70% of funds returned to the chosen school and 30% used by SRVEF for district-wide initiatives. Funds raised on pages not affiliated with SRVUSD schools will be considered donations to SRVEF.
Events and logistics
- 1.5 Mile - untimed walk/run, starts and finishes at the same place as the 5K.
- Mini Run - for ages 2 - 6.
- Friendship Run - for athletes with special needs; walk, run, or roll.
- 5K - start and finish in San Ramon; timed.
- 10K - starts at Charlotte Wood Middle School in Danville and finishes at Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon; timed.
- Virtual - participate without attending in person.
New in 2026: main start and finish location for the 5K, Mini Run, and Friendship Run is Iron Horse Middle School in San Ramon. Bibs must be worn on course and only Mini Run bibs are allowed on the Mini Run course. Participants under 14 must be accompanied by an adult; two-year-olds in the Mini Run may be accompanied by one parent or guardian. Bicycles and dogs are not allowed on the course. Mini, Friendship, 1.5 Mile, and 5K registrations include a short-sleeve cotton shirt and a medal; 10K adults receive a long-sleeve tech shirt. Shirts not picked up by October 30, 2026 will be donated. Discounts: $5 off for participants 18 and under for the 5K and 10K, and 5% off for group registrations of four or more; these discounts apply beginning 11/1/2025.
