Run For Rangers is a multi-event running weekend in Dahlonega, Georgia, held November 8-9, 2025. Events are held at Hancock Park and Camp Merrill and include standard and combined race options.
- 5K at Hancock Park, timed with age/gender categories
- 10K at Hancock Park, timed with age/gender categories
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles) at Camp Merrill, off-pavement on service roads
- Mountain Challenge - 5K or 10K plus the half marathon (sign up for two races)
- Half Marathon Ranger Challenge Relay - two-person teams, Army Rangers only
- 10K Ranger Challenge - Army Rangers only
- Half Marathon Ranger Challenge - Army Rangers only
Course, logistics and awards
The half marathon starts and finishes on the airfield at Camp Merrill and follows forestry and service roads through the Appalachian Mountains, running close to the Appalachian Trail. Much of the half marathon course is off-pavement and includes two significant hills. The 5K and 10K take place at Hancock Park. Parking in Dahlonega is described as abundant. Food and beverage service will be available after the half marathon at the on-post club The Overhang, including beer and wine. The weekend coincides with Veterans Day festivities in downtown Dahlonega, including a parade and an all-day music festival.
Races are timed and use age and gender award categories. Awards for 1st to 3rd places are given in overall, masters, and detailed age groups. Pre-registration is strongly requested; some combined and Ranger divisions have registration deadlines. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
