Run for Rangers
Run For Rangers is a weekend running event in Dahlonega, Georgia, centered at Hancock Park and Camp Merrill. It offers a 5K and 10K on Sunday, plus a Half Marathon (Mountain Marathon) on Saturday, with an optional Ranger Challenge pairing the two distances for extra challenge. The Half Marathon uses forestry roads through the Appalachian Mountains, starting and finishing on Camp Merrill’s airfield and mostly off-pavement along service roads near the Appalachian Trail, featuring two steep climbs.
The event includes Veterans Day festivities, a parade, a kids’ play area, and an all-day music festival with food and beverages, including beer and wine; parking is abundant. Awards span multiple age groups. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
