Run For Rangers : Dahlonega, GA (November 8-9, 2025)
Run For Rangers takes place over Veterans Day weekend in Dahlonega, Georgia, with event activity at Hancock Park and the half marathon at Camp Merrill. The event program includes the following races:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Mountain Challenge: 5K + Half Marathon
- Mountain Challenge: 10K + Half Marathon
- Half Marathon Ranger Challenge Relay (2-person teams, only for Army Rangers)
- 10K Ranger Challenge (only for Army Rangers)
- Half Marathon Ranger Challenge (only for Army Rangers)
Course, format and awards
The half marathon uses forestry and service roads near the Appalachian Trail and starts and finishes on the airfield at Camp Merrill. The course is mostly off-pavement and includes two significant hills. The 5K and 10K take place at Hancock Park. Events are timed and include age and gender categories. Awards are given for 1st to 3rd place in each category; 5K age groups begin at 10 and under, while 10K and half marathon age groups begin at 14 and under. Top overall male and female finishers receive a custom crafted Ranger plaque. Parking is described as abundant in Dahlonega. Food and beverage will be available at the on-post service club, The Overhang, after the half marathon. Pre-registration is strongly requested; walk-up entrants are not guaranteed an event T-shirt.
