The Michigan Men's Health Foundation presents Run for the Ribbon on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak, MI (8450 W 10 Mile Rd, 48067). The event supports prostate cancer survivors and their families. Race options include:
- 5K Run/Walk (timed)
- 1-Mile Stroll
- Doze for Dads (virtual only)
Doze for Dads is a virtual option only; registrants who choose it are not permitted to participate in person.
What participants can expect
All in-person participants receive a race shirt, medal, and complimentary entry to the Detroit Zoo. The event offers fundraising and team options; registrants can create personal or team fundraising pages, upload photos and a story, and set fundraising goals. Prostate cancer survivors are invited to visit the Michigan Men's Health Foundation tent to collect a survivor gift. Race activities include "In Celebration of" signs placed along the route (signs must be requested by midnight on June 17 to be printed), a Men's Health Hero Wall for ribbon dedications, back bibs and colored beads, and awards for overall and age-group finishers. Top fundraisers and a recent father will receive special recognition. Age-based discounts are available for children 0-2 and 3-13; children under 2 receive free zoo entry and stroller entries receive a t-shirt, medal, and zoo entry with a race bib. Dogs are not allowed per zoo regulations. Parking is available in the zoo parking structure and the surface lot left of the main entrance. Packet pickup details will be provided later.
