Run Like a Hero 5k
The Run Like a Hero: 4th of July 5k is a festive running event held annually in Chico, California, at Sycamore Field in Bidwell Park. This 5k run/walk features a slightly modified City of Chico course that includes scenic routes over Big Chico Creek and finishes near Caper Acres Playground. Participants are encouraged to dress in hero costumes or patriotic attire to celebrate Independence Day.
The event supports the Chico Striders Run Strong Scholarship for graduating high school athletes. Runners receive a custom hero cape, and refreshments are provided post-race.
