Event overview
Run The Alamo is a road race event in downtown San Antonio at Civic Park @ Hemisfair (210 S. Alamo St.). The event offers multiple distances:
- 26.2 Marathon
- 13.1 Half Marathon
- 5k and 10k (Alamo Donut Dash)
The course passes near The Alamo, Houston Street, San Pedro Cultural Park, San Fernando Cathedral, King William, the World Heritage Missions, and the River Walk. Finishers receive creative medals; the marathon has a finisher jacket. Awards are given in top overall, masters, grand masters (50+), and age-group divisions 3-deep. Donut Dash awards include overall and age-group prizes.
Logistics and policies
Packet pickup and the race expo take place at Flores Banquet Hall, 110 Keller, San Antonio, with free parking. There is emergency race-day packet pickup at the race info tent near the finish. The half marathon has a 4-hour course limit (about an 18-min-per-mile pace). The marathon has a 7-hour course limit and requires runners to reach the Padre Dr. & Pyron aid station by 11:00 to maintain the 16-min-per-mile cutoff; otherwise runners will be rerouted. Aid stations are provided about every 1.0 to 1.5 miles with water and electrolytes. A phone tracker is available via the ACTIVE Experience app. Volunteers must be at least 12 years old. Registration is nonrefundable; options include race insurance or deferral (fee applies) with a deferral deadline noted. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
