Event overview
The Run the Cove event takes place on March 28, 2026 in Owens Cross Roads / Hampton Cove and Flint River Greenways, Huntsville, AL. It offers the following distances:

- 10K
The event is chip-timed and has a 4-hour time limit for the half marathon. Minimum age is 12 years. Entry fees listed are $75 for the half marathon and $40 for the 10K; fees increase after December 31, 2025 at 11:59pm CST. The event has a participant cap for the first 500 registrants. Entry includes race registration, a race shirt, a finisher medal, and post-race food and a finish-line gathering. All entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. Results and race photos are published after the event.
Course, logistics and services
The half marathon course begins on the Hays Nature Preserve Greenway, runs to Old 431, continues past ballfields and through a tunnel, follows a ponds path and neighborhood streets in Hampton Cove, then returns to the greenway with a few rolling hills on the back side. The 10K course is not yet certified. The finish line is located on the track behind the school.
Aid and water stations are placed at approximately miles 3.5, 6, 9, and 12 for the half marathon, with a water station around mile 5 on the 10K. Mile 6 will provide GU; water and Powerade are available. Portojohns are located near the school side of the greenway and on course at miles 1.5 and 6. Packet pick-up is at Fleet Feet Huntsville on Friday 12:00 to 6:00, with late packet pick-up Saturday at the starting area parking lot. Race day parking is at Hampton Cove Elementary/Middle School. Awards are scheduled for around 9:30 a.m. Organizers note several local sponsors and partner groups for aid stations and finish-area services.
