Running of the Ox 5K

The Running of the Ox 5K & 1 Mile is a community running event held in West Jefferson, Ohio, as part of the annual Ox Roast celebration. The event features three distances: a 5K, 2 Mile, and 1 Mile Run/Walk, all starting and finishing at West Jefferson High School. The course is flat and fast, running on paved roads and passing by Garrette Park, the Ox Roast venue.

Participants receive event t-shirts, and awards are given to top finishers overall and in various age groups. Proceeds support the West Jefferson Youth Athletic Association, promoting youth sportsmanship and skill development. Reduced fees apply for children and students.
