About the race
The Lightning 5K/10K, hosted by Sandy Springs Education Force, is a fast, flat race in Sandy Springs, Georgia. The course starts and finishes at 6100 Lake Forrest Drive, with the 10K looping the 5K course twice. It’s an official Peachtree qualifier and offers a festive, family-friendly atmosphere with a DJ, vendors, giveaways, food, and photo ops, plus free parking nearby.
Each participant receives a race T-shirt, and finishers earn custom-designed medals, with top adults and kids receiving awards. Proceeds support SSEF’s 18 educational programs that boost tutoring, literacy and after-school enrichment in the community. All proceeds help sustain SSEF’s programs.
