Save the Manatee

The Save the Manatee 5K is an annual run/walk event supporting manatee conservation, held in Florida for the first time in 2025 at Blue Spring State Park in Orange City, a key winter refuge for manatees. Participants can run or walk the 5K course in person or join virtually from anywhere worldwide, even by paddling. The event, which began in Michigan in 2003, now attracts around 1,600 participants globally.

Scheduled during Manatee Awareness Month, the race offers a festive atmosphere with race packets including a T-shirt, finisher medal, and bib. It aims to raise awareness and funds to protect manatees and their aquatic habitats. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
