Event overview
Scare in White Bear is a Halloween-themed evening running event on Saturday, October 25, 2025 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. The course uses a torch-lit, paved path along Lake Avenue beside White Bear Lake. Memorial Beach is the site for the post-race awards ceremony, a kids Halloween party, and trick-or-treating stations on the beach.
The event includes Halloween decorations, glow stick necklaces and bracelets for participants, a holiday-themed photo booth, and free professional race photography. Strollers and dogs are encouraged and welcome.

- Fun Run - 0.5 mile
- 5k - 3.1 miles
The 5k course includes a turnaround with a water stop. Parents running with children in the 0.5 mile fun run should register for the parents' fun run. Race packets include race bibs, timing chips, glow items, and race shirts for those who selected that option.
Awards and finish items: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
- Fun run participants receive finisher medals and Halloween-themed goodie bags (no place awards).
- Overall top male and female receive Halloween-themed awards.
- Top 3 male and female in each age group receive age-group award ribbons to attach to finisher medals. Age groups are 19 and under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70+. Overall winners are not eligible for age-group awards. Winners must be present or arrange shipment at their own cost.
