Event overview
Screaming Monkey takes place on November 8, 2025, at Eddie D. Jones Park in Keithville, Louisiana, near Shreveport. The event is the 7th annual running of the race and is held on trails adjacent to a National Chimpanzee Sanctuary. A semi-private tour of the nearby Chimp Haven is offered on November 7, limited to 25 participants; a portion of the tour fee is refundable if canceled due to weather.

Course and logistics
The main course is a 15.5-mile loop used by all distances. The loop is roughly 75% single-track, 12% wide rolling equestrian trails, under 11% small gravel, and about 2% road. Each loop has about 1,050 feet of elevation gain and loss and includes varied terrain such as technical forest track, pine-straw-covered rolling red-clay hills, and a ravine section. Aid stations are located at the start/finish and on-course at approximately miles 5, 9, and 14; drop bag access is available at the mile 9 and mile 14 aid stations. Pacers are allowed only with race director permission. Free camping is available at the park on race weekend, and some RV pads are available with boondocking rules; nearby hotels can be found using Shreveport zip code 71106.
