Scrub Jay Races

The Scrub Jay Races, held annually at Oscar Scherer State Park in Osprey, Florida, feature a 5K and a challenging Scramble 10K trail run. The 5K course is road-runner friendly, mostly on asphalt, pavers, and crushed shell paths, with the final mile on park trails including a small sandy section. The Scramble 10K offers a more rugged trail experience with ups and downs, pedestrian underpasses, and overpasses, designed for experienced trail runners.

Both races start near the Nature Center, sharing the finish line and post-race festivities with food and snacks. Virtual 5K and 10K options are also available. All finishers receive medals and tech shirts while supplies last.
