Event overview

Cancellation, refunds and alternatives
The organizer canceled the 2025 event because of a city permit issue related to road closures and a timing-company scheduling conflict. All registered participants and donations were to receive full refunds processed back to the original payment method; organizers requested about one week to complete refunds. As an informal alternative, an honorary walk was planned at Calvin Farmer Park (235 Old Dawsonville Rd.) on the same day; that walk was described as a casual, unorganized activity and not an official race.
Charity, timing and awards (planned)
Planned race proceeds after reasonable event expenses were to be donated to The ALS Association. Entry fees were noted as not tax-deductible; direct donations to The ALS Association were described as fully tax-deductible. The race had planned chip timing by OnTime Results with live online results. Medals were planned for overall male and female top three finishers and first-place medals for listed age groups.
