Event overview
The Seward Solstice Run takes place on December 20, 2025, at Seward Park in Seattle, WA. It is the fourth event in the 2025-26 Winter Trail Series. Distances offered:
- 4.2-mile
- 10k
The event includes a costume contest with one winner chosen from each distance who receives a free entry to a future Northwest Trail Runs race. Runners under 20 years old receive a $10 discount on registration.
Course and logistics
The route is a loop that is almost entirely in old growth forest on a peninsula in Lake Washington. The main trail is wide and smooth, flat-to-rolling, then dips downhill toward the tip of the peninsula. The return uses smaller trails on the west side, including a few-hundred-meter twisty section with small fallen trees, roots, and other bumps. An aid station is adjacent to the start/finish; 4.2-mile runners pass it once and 10k runners pass it twice. Aid station items may include water, electrolyte drink, energy bars, gels, chips, bagels, fruit, and sandwiches. The start/finish is located near the park’s second parking lot; enter the park, pass the first lot on the left, and continue up Seward Park Rd. Dogs are not allowed on the course under USATF policy. Participants are responsible for their own safety and should call 9-1-1 in an emergency. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
