About the race
Shakori 40 Running Festival takes place in Pittsboro, NC (Shakori Hills, just outside Chapel Hill) on December 5–6, 2025. The event offers a 40-mile ultramarathon, a 40K Open race for men and women, and a 40-mile age-graded team relay for up to 10 runners (with age and gender factoring into the winning team), plus a bulk-purchase relay option and a 4-mile Open Race. The cross-country course winds through the Shakori Hills Community Art Center, blending nature, trails, and local arts.
