Slate Run Trail Race
The Slate Run Trail Race, held in Slate Run, Pennsylvania, offers challenging 25K and half marathon distances through the rugged Tiadaghton State Forest. The course features technical single-track trails, streams, and scenic vistas within the Algerine Wild Area and Red Run sections of the Black Forest Trail. Both race distances share the first 9 miles, after which half marathoners divert to a road route toward the finish, while 25K runners continue on a more demanding trail including Old Supply Trail.
Strict cut-offs ensure safety, with all participants required to reach the Manor Fork camps by noon to continue the full 25K. The event is limited to 250 participants and emphasizes a remote, natural trail running experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
