Sleeping Giant Trail Runs
The Sleeping Giant Trail Runs, held at Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden, Connecticut, is a challenging trail running event known as one of the toughest in the Northeast. The race offers two distances: a 25K loop with over 3,000 feet of vertical gain and a 50K option for runners who complete two loops. The course features a variety of terrain, including smooth carriage roads, technical rocky singletrack, steep rock scrambles, and scenic trails like the Yellow, White, and Quinnipiac (Blue) Trails.
Runners start and finish at the park pavilion, with aid stations providing hydration and snacks. The event emphasizes sustainability with a cup-free policy and celebrates finishers with medals and post-race festivities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
