About the race
Sleeping Giant Trail Runs, held at Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden, CT, offers two rugged ultrarunning options: 25K and 50K. The 25K loop packs 3,000+ feet of vertical into a mix of smooth carriage roads, rocky singletrack, and technical climbs, including a 500-foot head-wall scramble in the opening miles. Runners traverse Yellow, Chestnut, White, and Blue Trails to the Observation Tower, then descend the Tower Path before returning to the pavilion.
The 50K doubles the distance with two loops. The course is well-marked and cupless, with aid stations, a Ragged Cuts finisher medal, sponsor swag, and post-race food and drinks.
