The Sole Survivor Backyard Ultra in Richland, Washington, is a unique endurance trail running event inspired by Big's Backyard Ultra. Held at 1200 Carrier Rd., runners complete a 4.16-mile loop every hour on the hour, continuing until only one runner remains. The course features a mix of trail and a short pavement section to ensure exact distance and single-file running.

Participants have breaks between loops for rest, eating, or napping but must start each loop on time. The event includes an aid station with typical fare and a communal BBQ. Runners reaching 100 miles receive a custom belt buckle.
