Event details

The Southern Indiana 6K Walk/Run for Water takes place on Saturday, May 16, 2026 in Bloomington, Indiana at Olcott Park (2300 E Canada Dr, Bloomington, IN 47401). The event is listed with a registration fee of $50. Registration opens on May 15, 2026. Parking is available at Jackson Creek Middle School.

Course and charity

The event distance is 6K. The start and finish are near the park restrooms. The course begins with a counterclockwise loop around Olcott Park, continues onto the Jackson Creek Trail, makes a loop around the Goat Farm, follows the Jackson Creek Trail to East Rhorer Road, proceeds on South Sare Road past Jackson Creek Middle School to East Canada Drive, and returns to Olcott Park.

The race supports a World Vision water project. The event page states that six kilometers is the average distance women and children in some developing countries walk daily to collect water, and that this water is often contaminated. For every $50 raised by donors or participants, World Vision will provide sustainable, clean water to one woman or child. The 2026 fundraising goal is $20,000 to provide clean water to 400 individuals. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
