Spirit of Syllamo is an ultra endurance trail event held in the Norfork area of the Ozarks Highlands. The 2025 event uses a new venue and significantly modified routes after severe trail damage from a tornado and subsequent flooding. The event offers the following distance options:

• 100 miles
• 35 miles
• approximately 9 miles

The start/finish area is at Misty Mornings, 309 Riverview Trail, Norfork, AR. Camping, RV sites, cabins, and nearby lodging options are available within a short drive.

Course, aid, and logistics

Trails are described as rugged, rocky, steep, and densely forested. Average recorded elevation gain is about 170 feet per mile on devices, though the course may feel like 200+ feet per mile due to short, punchy climbs. Course marking will use flagging and tree-hung ribbons at eye level; this year there will be additional markings and fewer turns than prior years. 9-mile runners have no water crossings; 35-mile runners may encounter crossings; 100-mile runners should expect several creek crossings and plan for at least one to wet feet. Aid stations are spaced broadly, often several miles apart, and the standard aid menu includes electrolyte mixes, water, sodas, gels/chews, solid foods, and warm cooked items. Drop bags are allowed for 35m and 100m and must be labeled; crew access to some remote locations is restricted and a 4x4 is recommended for certain roads.
