Star Spangled Spectacular

The Star Spangled Spectacular is an annual 5K run/walk held in Lima, Ohio, celebrating its 31st edition in 2025. The event takes place on July 4th, starting at Faurot Park on S Cole Street near Lakewood Avenue. Over 1,000 participants join the Freedom 5K, making it the area's largest run/walk.

The race offers age group awards for a wide range of categories, from 9 and under to 80+. Registration includes a t-shirt if completed by mid-June. The festivities continue into the evening with a performance by the Lima Area Concert Band and culminate in the area's largest fireworks display, providing a festive atmosphere for runners and spectators alike.
