About the race
The Stone Mountain Massacre is a challenging trail running event held in Roaring Gap, North Carolina, featuring distances of 50K, 25K, and an 8-mile race. The 50K course is a point-to-point loop that traverses Stone Mountain State Park trails and the Mountain to Sea Trail, with an elevation gain of 1,530 feet per loop. Runners must carry a "Protection" stone and collect tokens from aid stations along the route.
The terrain includes rocky paths, ice patches, stairs, roots, and gravel, creating a rugged and demanding atmosphere. Aid stations offer food, hydration, and first aid. Unique handmade pottery medals are awarded to finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
