Event information
The Summer Sizzle 5k & 10k takes place on August 22, 2026 at Deep Run Park, 9900 Ridgefield Pkwy., Henrico, VA. Points from the races count toward the Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Summer Series. A virtual race option is available. Walkers are welcome. The event partners with Operation Turbo and its "Boxes of Home" program.

Course, logistics and awards
The course is paved and runs through Deep Run Park with some hills. The 10k is an out-and-back completed twice. Water stations are planned at approximately miles 1.55, 3.1 and 4.65 on the 10k and at approximately mile 1.55 on the 5k; Gatorade will be available at some stations. Restrooms are located in the park.
Runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical (Drifit) event shirt and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before August 12; extra shirts may be available after that on a first-come, first-served basis. Entry fees change after July 31 and increase again on race morning. Packet pickup is available at the event; participants are advised to arrive about one hour before their race to check in. Awards are given to the top three men and women overall, and to 1st and 2nd male and female finishers in the listed age groups; overall top-three finishers are not eligible for age-group awards. Live results are posted on Athlinks and final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race. Parking is available at Deep Run Park (GPS: 37.624126, -77.588634).
