The Summer Sizzle Adventure Race - Sunday is set for June 14, 2026 in Spotsylvania Courthouse, VA at 6800 Lawyers Rd, near Lake Anna State Park. The Sunday race is a timed adventure race with a five-hour limit. The event is USARA-sanctioned and will score points for the Virginia State Parks Adventure Series.
Race format and divisions
The Sunday schedule includes four entry options: Soloist, Team, "no-biking" Soloist, and "no-biking" Team. Divisions include solo competitors and teams of 2, 3 or 4 people, plus a Family Division (noted as a 4-hour race only). The Soloist entry is open to ages 13 to 99. Team entries list an age range up to 99 and include a reduced child rate for young participants.
What registration includes
Registration provides kayak or canoe equipment with paddle and lifejacket (PFD), a race shirt (shirts guaranteed for registrations before April 1), high-quality topographic race map(s), race photography, a post-race meal, and custom awards for the top three finishers in each division. Fees also cover parking, land use permits, insurance and rentals. A weekend bundle option covers both the Saturday and Sunday races. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
