Sunshine Festival 5k
The Sunshine Festival July 4th 5k & 1 Mile is an annual running event held on St. Simons Island, Georgia, at Kings Park across from Mallery Park. The race features a USATF-certified 5k course and a chip-timed 1-mile fun run, both starting and finishing at Park Avenue near the basketball courts.
Participants self-seed at the start line by expected pace, with special divisions for adaptive athletes using racing strollers. All finishers receive medals, and awards are given across various age groups and categories. The event offers a festive atmosphere with on-site vendors, free race photos, and proceeds supporting local health initiatives.
