Surf & Sun 5K Run : event overview
The Surf & Sun 5K Run takes place on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at West Bank Park Beach, 2995 Buford Dam Rd, Cumming, GA 30041. The event includes the following distances:

- 5K - No Shirt
- Virtual 5K
The course is entirely inside West Bank Park and runs along the shore of Lake Lanier. The organizer describes the route as flat and fast and notes it is spectator friendly. Water stations will be available approximately every 1.5 miles. Packet pickup is offered on race morning; an early pickup may be announced.
Registration, awards and services
Registration has tiered pricing in preview, early bird, regular, late and race-day phases. Participants who register by January 28 are guaranteed race swag in their chosen size. All registrations are final; the event has a no-refund policy. The Georgia Alliance for Breast Cancer is listed as the event charity partner.
Awards for the 5K include top finishers by gender and age categories: top 3 overall M/F, masters, grand masters, senior masters, and top 3 in five-year age groups from 10 & under through 75+. A virtual option allows remote participants to submit results by the end of race day; virtual packages ship the Monday after the event (continental US only). RaceJoy tracking and live GPS features are available for the event. Volunteer sign-ups can earn a $50 Visa gift card if recruitment and service requirements are met.
