About the race
Tale of Two Trails is a trail ultramarathon at Shawnee Mission Park in Johnson County, Kansas. The event offers four distances: 50M, 40M, 20M and 10M; the longer routes loop through both the North and South Shawnee Mission Park trails with a brief paved connector, while the 10M follows a single system. Runners encounter a mix of runnable sections, roots, rocks, rolling hills, and canopy shade with occasional exposed areas.
A backup 10-mile route exists if trails are closed. The race is cupless, with stocked aid stations, drop bags for longer distances, and pacers allowed for the 50M. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
