Event
The Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup is a 5K road race held on November 27, 2025, at Green Lake Park in Seattle, WA. The event is produced by Hi5K and uses chip timing provided by Bell Lap Productions. Registration shows a standard fee of $30 and a reduced fee of $15 for participants age 18 and under; registration is open to ages 1 to 120. Podium awards are given to the top three finishers in each age category, with male and female awards presented separately. The race accepts non-perishable food donations to support local food shelters in Washington State. Financial assistance is available for participants experiencing hardship through the race director.
Course and logistics
The start and finish area is at the Greenlake Community Center basketball courts on the east side of Green Lake. The course follows the inner paved path in a counter-clockwise loop around the lake, then exits near mile 2.8 to circle the play fields before a final left turn at the "Turn and Burn" corner with about 200 meters remaining to the finish; the final stretch is described as slightly downhill. Bib pickup occurs on race day at the starting line tent; there is no prior bib pickup. The event is stroller friendly. Dogs are not permitted due to insurance and sanctioning rules.
