Event overview
The Thanksgiving Day Apple Cup 5K takes place on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at Green Lake Park in Seattle, WA. The event is produced by Hi5K and is open to ages 1–120. Standard entry is listed at $30, with a reduced fee of $15 for participants 18 and under; the price increases after November 20, 2025. Scholarships are available for participants experiencing financial hardship. There is no bib pickup before race day; bibs are distributed at the starting line tent on race day.
Course and race details
The course starts and finishes at the Greenlake Community Center basketball courts on the east side of Green Lake. It follows the inner paved path in a counter-clockwise loop around the lake, exits near mile 2.8 to loop around the play fields, and includes a final left turn with about 200 meters remaining to the finish on a slight downhill. The race is chip timed by Bell Lap Productions. Podium awards are given to the top three finishers in each male and female age category: 1-11, 12-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+. The event is stroller friendly; dogs are not permitted. Participants may bring non-perishable food donations to support local food shelters.
