Event
The Chocolate Turkey is a Thanksgiving Day running and walking event on Thursday, November 27, 2025, in downtown Peoria, Illinois. The event is organized by ShaZam Racing and RC Outfitters and benefits Elite Community Outreach, a 501(c)(3) organization based in Peoria. The event takes place along the Peoria Riverfront, with courses that start near Martinis and finish on Water Street behind the Peoria Riverfront Museum. Distances offered:

- 1 Mile Run/Walk
Logistics and awards
Packet pickup is available at RC Outfitters in the days before the event and very limited pickup is available on race day near the starting area. Race swag for participants includes a triblend raglan long-sleeve crewneck shirt, a 3.5 oz solid chocolate turkey, and post-race chocolate treats; swag is limited to 2,500 participants and is available while supplies last. Registration fees are stated as inclusive of mandatory charges. Overall winners in each race receive special Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory awards, and age-group top finishers receive Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory apples. There will not be an awards ceremony; placed participants should check results and claim awards at the results table or pick them up at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory within the announced pickup window.
