The Chocolate Turkey
The Chocolate Turkey is a festive running event held in Peoria, Illinois, featuring a 3-mile run and a 1-mile walk along the scenic Peoria Riverfront. Organized by Elite Community Outreach, this Thanksgiving Day tradition supports community programs aimed at creating economic opportunities and second chances for local residents. Participants enjoy a welcoming atmosphere with live holiday music from the Elite Holiday Choir and are rewarded with a signature race shirt, a 3.5 oz solid chocolate turkey, and post-race chocolate treats.
The course starts near Martinis and finishes behind the Peoria Riverfront Museum.
