Event details
The Hennepin Hundred is a point-to-point, all-trail ultramarathon in northwest Illinois on October 4-5, 2025. The course follows the Hennepin Canal State Trail from Sterling, IL to Colona, IL, using Illinois’ longest multi-use trail and crossing historic locks and lift bridges. The route is described as flat and fast, and aid stations are located approximately every 3-7 miles.

Race photography is provided and photos are free to download for social media. Awards are given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall male and female in each distance, plus artistic age-group awards in 10-year spans.
Entry, cutoff and services
Registration closes on Tue, Sep 30 (local time). A waitlist is used and entrants are admitted in waitlist order; certain groups are guaranteed entry from the waitlist. The event has a 30-hour race cutoff; finishing within that cutoff is required for the race to count as a Western States qualifying performance.
Bus service transports runners to start areas for a fee of $10. Volunteer incentives include a $200 credit for aid station captains and a $10 credit per volunteer spot. No refunds are offered; rollover and credit options are available with deadlines: a no-cost rollover if notified by 70 days before the event, and a 50% event credit available until 25 days before the event.
