About the race
October 4-5, 2025, The Hennepin Hundred is Illinois’ only point-to-point, all-trail ultramarathon, running from Sterling along the Rock River to Colona near the Mississippi and following the 104-mile Hennepin Canal State Trail through northwest Illinois’ historic locks, lift bridges, and scenic farmland. Distances include 100-mile, 50-mile, 50K, and a 100-mile team relay, with a flat, fast course ideal for PRs and for Western States qualification. Aid stations are roughly every 3–7 miles, supported by a dedicated volunteer crew.
The event also features the Mule 50K night run and a festive running community. Runners praise its supportive volunteers and canal-side vistas. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
