Event overview
The Loop Race takes place Sunday, December 7, 2025, in Philadelphia, PA, with the main venue at 1 Boathouse Row (zip 19130). The event includes an in-person race, a virtual option called Loop Race Anywhere, and a day-of t-shirt purchase. The in-person race distance is 8.4 miles. Course, timing and prizes
The course follows a recreational path around the Schuylkill River. It is run on the sidewalk, is self-contained and free of traffic, and is described as almost entirely flat. The route passes several Philadelphia landmarks, including the East Falls Bridge, Laurel Hill Cemetery, Strawberry Mansion Bridge, the Art Museum and Boat House Row. The in-person race will use chip timing with two remote splits at about 3 miles and 6 miles, and live tracking is available through the RaceJoy app for runners who carry their phones.
Proceeds support development and maintenance of Fairmount Park, specifically the Belmont Plateau cross country courses. Awards include cash for the top three overall male, female and nonbinary finishers, age-group awards in ten-year increments from 19 and under to 70+, masters awards, and bonuses for breaking the course records. No refunds are offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
