Event details
The Rising takes place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, in Oviedo, Florida. The event is organized by the Oviedo Run Club and is based at First United Methodist Church Oviedo, 263 King St., Oviedo, FL 32765. The course starts in front of the church's Historic Sanctuary and follows the Cross Seminole Trail as an out-and-back for the main distances. The Kids' Fun Run is under a mile and follows a canopied road near the church.

The event raises funds for local charities, including HopeHelps, Inc. and The Oviedo Preservation Project. Area schools are encouraged to form teams; grants are awarded to the largest schools in attendance. Cash awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in both the 5K and 10K. Finishers receive awards and age-group prizes are awarded in five-year increments. The Oviedo Run Club describes the event as a green event, using compostable water cups, on-site recycling, and race packets intended to contain usable items.
