Tortugas Mountain 24 Hour Challenge
The Tortugas Mountain 24 Hour Challenge is a premier 24-hour trail race held in Las Cruces, New Mexico, centered around Tortugas Mountain. Participants run multiple laps of a 4-mile rocky, rolling single-track course that alternates direction each lap. The race starts and finishes at the Arroyo Loop trailhead near Monte Vista Parking Lot, with aid stations providing water, electrolyte drinks, and minimal food.
This "cupless" event encourages runners to bring their own drink vessels. The race supports the Southern New Mexico Trail Alliance through donations and promotes trail maintenance and advocacy. The event is capped at 50 runners and welcomes crews at the start/finish area. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
