Tryptophan Half Marathon
The Tryptophan Half Marathon, held annually in Cumming, Georgia, is a Thanksgiving Day tradition celebrating its 15th year in 2025. The event offers multiple race distances including a half marathon, 10K, 5K, a 1K fun run, and a virtual option for remote participants. The courses start and finish in front of Rosati's Pizza and Sports Pub on Peachtree Parkway, featuring mostly flat terrain with ample running space.
The 10K and half marathon routes extend southward with U-turns and scenic stretches past local landmarks. Participants receive a custom bib, finisher's medal, and long-sleeve shirt. The race fosters a family-friendly atmosphere encouraging runners and walkers to burn calories before the Thanksgiving feast. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
