The 6th annual Ugly Sweater Run is presented by Hunter Subaru and takes place at Oskar Blues Brewery Taproom in Brevard, North Carolina on December 6, 2025. The event offers the following race distances:
- 5K | 3.1 Miles
- 10K | 6.2 Miles
Course, entry features and event details
The course is described as scenic and mostly flat, running along local greenways, around the Brevard Sports Complex, and on neighborhood streets. The 5K loop has under 100 feet of elevation gain; the 10K uses a double loop of the 5K course. Surfaces are all paved. The route is stroller friendly and allows leashed dogs; roads have light traffic and will have course marshals and police presence. Runners under 14 are asked to stay with a parent or guardian.
Timing uses a MyLaps chip on the race bib with timing mats and results published live online. Awards are given to overall and age-group top finishers. Standard participant items include a short sleeve dri-fit shirt (free for registrations before the listed deadline, later available for purchase in limited sizes), a Hunter Subaru goody bag, and a finisher ornament. A ticket on the race bib can be redeemed for a complimentary beer at Oskar Blues Brewery (21+). The event includes a group competition, the Sweater Squad Showdown, where the registered group with the most participants wins $1,000 to donate to a chosen organization.
