About the race
The University City Turkey Trot is an annual community 5K run/walk held in Charlotte, North Carolina, on Thanksgiving Day. Now in its 12th year, the event welcomes runners, walkers, and families to enjoy a festive race atmosphere. It features a 5K run/walk, a fun run for kids, and a costume contest with prizes for top finishers and best costumes.
Participants receive a turkey-themed T-shirt and a medal, with early registration recommended to guarantee a shirt. After the race, a mini feast with food, drinks, games, and music is offered.
