Event overview
The Ute 100 takes place in the La Sal Mountains, Utah, on August 8-9, 2026. The event offers the following distances:

The 100 mile race is a single-loop course that circumnavigates the La Sals. The 100 mile course has an average elevation of about 8,700 feet and roughly 25,000 feet of elevation gain. The route includes high desert singletrack and sections above tree line, with the highest point on the course at Manns Peak (12,272 feet). The race begins near the base of the La Sals just before sunrise.
Course and logistics
Course features and major segments include the Kokopelli Trail, Lower and Upper Porcupine singletrack, the Manns Peak climb (with a mandatory bypass to Burro Pass if lightning is present), Burro Pass, Geyser Aid Station, Dark Canyon Road, South Mountain loop, Squaw Springs, Moonlight Meadows singletrack, Gold Knob (about 11,000 feet), and a rocky technical descent to the finish.
Aid stations are well stocked with electrolyte drink, energy gels, baked goods, fruit, soda, and warm food options such as bacon, quesadillas, potatoes, and pierogis. Crew and pacer rules: pacers may join 100 mile runners at about mile 42 at the Dark Canyon aid station; 50 mile pacers may join around mile 15 on the second pass through Upper Porcupine. Crew accessible aid stations are reachable by 2WD/low clearance vehicles. Parking and start/finish access are off La Sal Loop Road near Miners Basin Road.
